How can food and supplements make you feel better?
Hello, Namaste. Today, I wanted to discuss a topic that has really opened my eyes in the last couple months: what we put into our bodies. The reason I'm talking about this today is because this has been something that I've been learning about on my own journey.
I can always tell when I've ate well... my anxiety and stress is down.I feel like I can make decisions with a clear, level-head.. but most importantly: I feel good.
Our emotions are greatly influenced by the things we put into our body. First, what we take in sends chemicals to different parts of our body; or doesn't. Making sure our hormones, dopamine, and serotonin levels are all balanced is what food can aid us in, or destroy our internal biome.

Top 9 foods and supplements to make you feel better:
1 - water
Water, water, water. Yes. The very first thing I'm going to talk about is water.
You are 70% water. Your body needs water. Physically, water helps the body perform all its' functions. But most importantly, what I'll focus on today, is this: water flushes toxins out of the body.
I'm sure you know THAT. So let's look at water energetically.
Energetically, water does the same thing. Water flushes the negative energy out of the physical body. Water can also help regulate emotions because it's aids the organs that regulate emotions. For example, our liver. In Chinese medicine, the liver is in charge of the smooth flow of emotions. When the liver is out of balance, emotions like anger, frustration, and irritability. Improving our circulation with the correct amount of water in our system can aid the liver and keep it in balance.
You can extend this example to all areas of the body.

3 - fiber
Okay, I'm well aware that fiber isn't a specific food. But I've seen the benefits of adding fiber into my diet, time and time again.
Fiber is super important not only to our digestive system, but also to our hormones. With the proper amount of fiber in our diet, fiber regulates glycerin in the body. Too much glycerin in your body will cause your hormones to become unstable and spike up and down. Your hormones are what controls your endocrine system. When you're anxious or stressed, your hormones are what controls sending you into panic mode, AKA "fight or flight".
Your "fight" or "flight" response is what is activated when your body thinks you're going to die. It quickens your heart rate, tenses your body, opens your peripheral vision, and pumps adrenaline through your veins. (Some people also react with "freezing", causing you to be paralyzed with fear). Our bodies were designed to activate this response with short- term stress, not long-term stress. It's very helpful when you're getting chased by a lion, not so helpful when you're trying create a long, happy life. You can get fiber in many vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, flax, and berries. You can also get extra fiber in a supplement form. WE ALL KNOW WE SHOULD EAT OUR LEAFY GREENS. But why?
Leafy greens such as kale, spinach, and collard greens, provide massive detoxing to the body. Our kidneys and digestive system need leafy greens to aid in the elimination process.
